Todaiji Temple
Todaiji temple, literally means “ Great Eastern Temple” was founded in the middle of 8th century by Emperor Shomu(45th emperor) in the hope of making a peaceful country with a power of Buddhism. The erection of the temple was a national project. The main hall which houses the Great Buddha Image is said to be the largest wooden structures in the world.

Kofukuji Temple
Founded in 710, this temple possesses a number of treasures of the art of the Nara Period (710-794). Five-story pagoda is one of the symbols of Nara.

Nara Park
The park is popularly called the “Deer Park” because of its numerous deer. There are about 1200 tame deer roaming about the park. They are regarded as divine messengers of the Kasuga Srine so they are well cared by Nara citizen. They are wild deer but are not afraid of people. Visitors can feed “deer crackers” to them.
