Kiyomizu temple
Designated as a World Heritage sites in 1994, this temple attracts 5 million people every year. The architectural style of the veranda, part of the main hall, is famous. It is built out over a steep cliff, supported by 48 Japanese zelkova tree pillars without using a single nail. The view of the city center of Kyoto from the veranda is magnificent.
